My first thought was Charleston, SC (which I LOVE, by the way, if you've never been there. Gorgeous.) But then I saw the bridge in the background of your final picture and thought San Francisco. So that's my guess. San Francisco, which I hear is also gorgeous. Beautiful pictures, by the way.
My first thought was Charleston, too, but now I'm almost positive it's Mackinac Island. Is that the Grand Hotel? The horses, the flowers -- it's all adding up!
I am not an American so have NO authority to make *any* claims but I'd say the coastal South because of the porch and the flags. But what do I know? ;) In any case, it looks lovely!
No way! Why I recognize those lovely scenes as easily as the freckles on my face! ;) Mackinac Island, of course. Oh I'm so glad that you got to go!! Was this your first time? Did you stay at the Grand Hotel? My dream is to stay there for a honeymoon if I ever get married. :)
My family was just there a couple of weeks ago, (while I stayed home to work, and take care of the animals and gardens) and they said that the lilacs were in full bloom for the lilac festival. Looks like some were still blooming for you.
Good guesses, everyone! Elizabeth, the suspension bridge you spied (sharp eyes!) is actually the Mackinac Bridge in northern Michigan, which connects the upper and lower peninsulas. Those of you who guessed Mackinac Island are correct!! More details and photos coming soon. :)
I'm a 31-year-old Christian. My hope is to live a quiet life filled with home and hearth, family and friends, loveliness and simplicity. I'm wife to Douglas (married October 2008) and mother to Edmund (born November 2009), Lavinia (born May 2012), and Rosamund (born February 2014). More...
Virginia?

Having said that, I'm going to be phenomenally embarrassed if that turns out to be the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I only drive it every weekend. :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm not jealous. No really, I'm not... ;-)
I hope your visit was as lovely as your photos!
Love,

Looks like Mackinac Island...which I see Cheri has already guessed. :-) I am going to go someday. Someday.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not here in New Zealand :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with a couple others. One of my husbands favorite places: Mackinac Island. He says one day he will take me there. :)
ReplyDeleteMackinac Island. Somewhere in Time was filmed there. Traci
