Hello!

Wow, the time has flown since my last update. It's probably not hard to guess part of the reason behind my blog silence. I'll let pictures speak for themselves:

[L to R: 15 weeks; 21 weeks; 29 weeks; 34 weeks!]

We are really looking forward to meeting our fourth child next month! Between pregnancy and homeschooling and a camera that is dubiously working, keeping up with my blog has just become too much for me. I've decided to shut it down, although I will hopefully pop in with a birth announcement before that happens!

Thank you for following along all these years! I have met so many lovely ladies through my blog; it has been such a blessing to me! Please feel free to e-mail me at any time if you would like to keep in touch. I will miss this space but I know it's time to stretch into a new season and different priorities. May God bless each and every one of you!

  1. Congratulations on Baby #4! Babies are such a blessing! Sorry to hear you're closing down the blog; I've so enjoyed reading your posts and getting to know you through them for the last 9 (maybe?) years! I've been reading since before you married, back when you were posting lots of sewing projects. I'll definitely miss this place but I completely understand needing to change your priorities and focus on new things! Are you still going to be active on Instagram?

  3. Oh gosh, I wondered if maybe this was the reason for your silence! Congratulations, how exciting! I am sad to see your blog go, but as a mama who is now expecting a surprise third babe, I TOTALLY understand needing to let it go to focus on other things.
Take care and best wishes for a healthy delivery!

  4. Oh, you will be missed. But I fully understand the need to let go of some things in place of others. And a new baby is definitely one of those more important things! So excited for you.

  5. I have enjoyed your blog, and will be sad to see it go. I completely understand, though. It's hard to blog, mother, create a home, and wear all of those hats we tend to wear. I'll miss this little corner of the internet, and I have only good wishes for you and your family. Prayers for a healthy delivery!

    1. Alyssa, thank you so much! I'm glad you commented now! :) I will keep the archives up for the time being, but will eventually take them down after I get everything printed for my own personal records. Though as quickly as I get to projects these days, that could be years down the road... ;-)

  7. Congratulations, Laura! What lovely, lovely news! I had a suspicion that your absence may have been a "family" matter. :-) Your blog has been such a delight, and will be much missed!

You look radiant, by the way! I'll be praying that the last weeks of your pregnancy go smoothly, and that the delivery will be uneventful -- well, I suppose no delivery is "uneventful," but you know what I mean! ;-)

Blessings and best wishes to you, friend!

    Love,
    Shannon

  8. Congratulations! You look so lovely in these pictures.

Your blog will be missed! Your blog was one of the first few blogs I ever discovered. : ) Your creativity has been an inspiration to me over the years.

May the LORD bless you during this busy season of life!

  9. Congratulations, Laura. I don't believe I have commented before, and since I subscribed via email, I didn't read every post, but I am very sorry to see your blog go. You have a lovely family! I pray your delivery goes well.

  10. Having seen your birth announcement on instagram, I thought I'd pop back to your blog. I've so enjoyed reading your posts since I discovered it in 2008 - I think it was through searching for The Box of Delights that I came across it. Then adter reading through the archives I saw that we shared similar tastes in music and literature. It's been so fun following you for the last few years. I completely understand why you've had to call it a day, life gets so busy. I hope maybe we can still keep in touch via instagram? All the best for the future, God bless you and your family. Any maybe one day, if you ever manage to get over to the UK again (maybe when the children are older?!) we will meet in person! Love, Rachel Xx

    1. Thanks so much, Rachel. I sure hope we can keep in touch, too! Yes, I would love to meet you and I keep telling my kids that I want to take them to England someday. We'll see how the Lord answers that dream. :)

  11. Hi Laura,
I'm one of the many who have followed you for years, and are sad to see you go. But I totally understand the shift in focus and priorities as a homeschooling mother of 5 myself. Congratulations on baby Rafe--he looks adorable. Keep treasuring those all too swiftly passing baby days!
    Blessings to you and yours,
    Priscilla
