Just wanted to let you know that my lovely friend Jacqueline at Deep Roots at Home is also hosting a giveaway of my new pattern, with two winners. So if you'd like another chance to win your own copy, head on over to her blog and enter the giveaway!
Thanks so much for all the support and wonderful comments; I appreciate your kindness more than I can express! Have a splendid weekend -- we are having a really exciting one, which I will share more about soon! :)

Laura,
ReplyDeleteWould you mind sharing if you used a software program to produce your pattern? Now that I'm drafting more of my own patterns, I'd like a better way to digitalize them and have no idea where to start. :-)
Blessings,
Shannon
Shannon, not at all! I had no idea what I was doing when I started either. If you have more specific questions, you can always e-mail me and I'd be glad to help you. I scanned my original, hand-drafted pattern into the computer and then used Adobe Illustrator to "clean up" the pattern lines. My husband taught me the basics of Illustrator (he is self-taught too, but more advanced than me). I made my instructions in Adobe Photoshop, with which I am more familiar. I also scanned my hand-drawn pattern instruction illustrations and cleaned them up in Photoshop and Illustrator. So those are the programs I used -- there are probably better, more specific ones for pattern-drafting, but I used what we had on hand (my husband was able to purchase a bundle of Adobe programs several years ago at a greatly discounted price, because he was working for a university, and it has been a huge blessing to us).
DeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteThanks for explaining your method! I just downloaded your pattern, and I'm *very* impressed with its appearance. I do have Photoshop Elements, so perhaps I can fool around with that a bit. I appreciate your taking the time to respond!
Blessings,
Shannon
